“Buttons, buttons, buttons!”
Master Chen is the leader of the Anacondrai Cultists on his private island. He is the main antagonist of Tournament of Elements, a minor character in Possession, and a major antagonist in Day of the Departed.
During the Serpentine Wars, Chen was the Sensei to Garmadon and Clouse. He coerced the Anacondrai and the humans to repel against each other, prolonging the war. Eventually he was tried for his crimes and exiled onto his own island along with his right-hand Clouse. 40 years later, Chen and Clouse would host an underground fighting tournament for Elemental Masters as a rouse for stealing their powers. He would use these powers to turn him and his army into Anacondrai warriors. This plan backfired when the Ninja and Elemental Masters joined together to defeat him and exile him in the Cursed Realm.
In Season 5 Chen would be seen attempting to break out of the Cursed Realm, but to no avail, as he would be killed when the Cursed Realm was destroyed.
During the Day of the Departed, his soul was taken from the Departed Realm to possess a manikin in order to destroy Kai and Nya. They defeated him, and he was ultimately returned to the Departed Realm for good.
