“Only the 'results'! This world only remembers the 'results'!!”
Diavolo (also known as Solido Naso) is the main antagonist of Golden Wind, and the fourth antagonist of the series.
Diavolo is the boss of the Neapolitan crime syndicate known as Passione. He assumed the identity of the Boss at some point and became the most powerful man in Italy while selling drugs. He is a man afflicted with dual-personality disorder, and his other half, Aceto Doppio, serves as his second in command. Diavolo lives in total isolation, as no one but his alter ego knows his true identity. Eventually he is tracked down by Giorno Giovanna and Team Bucciarati, and the two of them fight for control over the Stand Arrow, but he inevitably loses to the ultra-powerful Gold Experience Requiem. He is killed, and in his final moments, lives out an infinite death loop within his own mind, so that he may never reach the truth of how he dies.
Diavolo shares his time skipping Stand, King Crimson, with Doppio.
Physical Appearance[]
As himself, Diavolo is a tall muscular man with long pink hair. In his hair are random black splotches. He wears purple pants and has some sort of lace that he wears over his arms and torso.
As Doppio, he appears much younger than his primary personality. He has shorter hair, and wears a pink sweater.
Design Variants[]
In A Little Story From the Past ~ My Name Is Doppio Diavolo as a small baby appears.
In A Little Story From the Past ~ My Name Is Doppio a younger Diavolo appears, in a similar appearance to Doppio, in a pink checkered shirt.
In Head to Venice! the Boss appears in a cloak.
In The Mystery of King Crimson Diavolo appears, although obscured by darkness, in a maroon suit with a diamond pattern.
In Beneath a Sky on the Verge of Falling Diavolo's face is finally revealed to Team Bucciarati through a mold made of his head created by Moody Blues.

Personality[]
Diavolo is obsessed with keeping his identity secret. So much so that he does everything in his power to make sure that anyone left alive that knows his identity will die. He is also power hungry, and wants to be in control of fate itself, as later in the part he seeks out the Stand Arrow to evolve his Stand King Crimson and take control of fate.
Powers and Abilities[]

King Crimson[]
Diavolo awakened to his Stand at some time in the past after purchasing the Stand Arrows from Enya the Hag. He likely stabbed himself with one of his own arrows, awakening King Crimson. King Crimson gives him the ability to erase time, meaning that for a certain period of time, the events are "skipped" and only the results of said events remain. Diavolo is able to manipulate fate in this way.
- Strength: King Crimson is considerably powerful, with Diavolo preferring precise strikes at full power to kill and maim instead of rapid barrages like other Close-Range Stands. It is strong enough to slice off limbs and impale people in an instant, making it perfect for silent assassinations. Other feats include throwing a pair of scissors hard enough to sever Risotto Nero's foot, partially shattering a brick wall with a single punch, and denting boulders upon striking them.
- Speed: King Crimson is also notably very fast. Coupled with its time skip ability, its attacks are difficult to react to, such as when it showed to be able to outpace Silver Chariot in his initial showdown with Jean Pierre Polnareff. It can also deflect bullets and several scalpels.
- Range: Much like other Close-Range Stands, its weaknesses are poor effective range (about 2–3 meters) and permanence, making it difficult for its User to hide their identity against multiple foes.
- Time Erasure: King Crimson's signature ability is to erase a given frame of time; it starts from the instant the ability is activated and can be made to last up to around 10 seconds. During this period of erased time, only Diavolo remains fully conscious and is the only one who can re-adjust his actions. Other people will be unable to experience anything that happens and will continue to act as they would have. After the effect of the ability ends, all people other than Diavolo will retain no memories of anything that happened during the erased period.
Epitaph[]
His Sub-Stand, Epitaph, lets him see five seconds into the future.
- Future sight: Epitaph gives Diavolo/Doppio the ability to see several tens of seconds into the future and project it as an image. The future vision is usually represented as an image on the inside of their hair.
Age[]
Diavolo is 33 in Golden Wind.

Trivia[]
- Diavolo means "devil" in Italian.
- It is ironic that Giorno, son of DIO (meaning God in Italian) fights someone named after the devil.
- His assumed identity when living in Sardegna (Solido Naso) means "Solid Nose," which is funny, I think.
- He is indirectly referenced in Part 8 with Toru/ Satoru Akefu, as both Toru and Diavolo are the leaders of a criminal organization that takes on an assumed identity to hide their true face (Akefu/Doppio.)
- In the Anime adaptation Diavolos birthday is changed from Summer 1967 to Summer 1965, which would make him about 35 in the anime.
- Though never demonstrated, Diavolo can fluently speak Sardinian.
- Throughout the entirety of the battle against Chariot Requiem, Diavolo's soul takes the form of King Crimson, and speaks and emotes completely through it.
- According to a Top 10 List published in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2000, Diavolo is Araki's second favorite antagonist and 4th favorite character overall.
- Diavolo in the Golden Wind anime shares the same voice actor as Jonathan Joestar in the Phantom Blood film.
- While Diavolo isn't named after any particular food, there is an Italian style of tomato sauce called "fra diavolo", which is made with spicy red peppers and is typically served over shellfish and linguini.
