The Manual of Style is a set of guidelines when editing the NinjaJoJo's Wiki. These are for set ups of pages for series, parts of series, characters, and sub-characters.
At some point, it's best to refer to the Manual of Style regardless if you're a new user or an experienced one because most questions can be answered if you look at the Manual of Style.
Series Pages[]
Series pages are pages going over lengthy series with multiple parts such as Ninjago with its 15+ seasons, JoJo and it's 9 parts, etc. This is the basic set up for a normal series page.
The Introduction paragraph should be two to three sentences at best. Describe what it is briefly and the aspects of the separate parts it has.
Series Overview[]
Part 1: X (YEAR)[]
Some pages follow different delineations, such as the MCU and Ninjago and their phases, but more often than not a series is simply comprised of parts. Provide a summary paragraph for the part and include a poster / graphic to the right of it with a caption of its name and the year it was released. The image should usually be the best fitting in regards to the product, but in the case of manga series, always use the first volume of that series to represent it.
Beneath the summary include a list of repeating themes that are shared across all parts, which may include changing main protagonists, main antagonists, a McGuffin, pilot and finale episode titles, and years of release.
Sub-Series Pages[]
Sub-Series Pages should be detailed accounts of the smaller parts (as described above) in a larger series, such as games in The Legend of Zelda series, or JoJo's parts. At the top of the page include the English logo (official or unofficial, but it must be derivative of the source, such as Crazy Heartbreakers or Part 2: Academy Saga's logos.) Beneath the logo, a quote representing the series best, followed by the intro paragraph.
Note that all images on the page *should* derive from the official English version of that media, unless it doesn't exist, or specified otherwise.
Intro Paragraph and Header[]
Intro paragraphs always precede the Table of Contents and sit to the left of the Infobox. The first sentence or two should describe the nature of the sub-series (what number of season/ part in which series released when? What installment precedes and follows it chronologically?) followed by a couple of listings, usually who the main protagonist, antagonist, and villainous faction are.
The rest of the intro paragraphs rules change depending on the series.
- For manga series, the second paragraph should be detailing the serialization history, previous titles, author, years released, and magazine. The rest of the paragraphs should briefly (in one or two short sentences) describe other adaptations of that manga series, including the anime adaptation. The final paragraph should be detailing the release date and publisher of the official English translation of that series, whether they have one or not.
- For video game series, the second paragraph should describe the essential plot details briefly. In the case of a The Legend of Zelda game, that means describing its place in the grand timeline. The third and final paragraph should briefly describe any remakes this game has.
- For seasons of a TV show, also describe essential plot details, and in the follow paragraphs include any spin-off media derived from that season. The final paragraph will include the series chronology, instead of in the first sentence.
Infobox[]
Infoboxes rules also change depending on the series, but generally an appropriate image should be picked and the information in the boxes filled out according to the appropriate form of media (video game, season, animanga.)
- For manga series, the first image should always be a poster for the anime adaptation (if it has one) followed by the first volume cover, then other adaptations in chronological order.
- For video games, usually the original game boxart, followed by remakes.
- For show seasons, include all main key posters for that season in the infobox.
At the bottom of the infobox is usually space for another image.
- For manga series, the first magazine cover the series is featured on. This does not include when an author draws for an ensemble, where that series character appears with others from the magazine, it must be featuring that series unless one does not exist.
- For show seasons, the title card for that season.
- For video games, the game map.
Sub-Headings[]
Different media require different sub-headings on the page. They are as follows, usually in this order. Headings with an asterisk (*) are optional.
