“ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA”

— Stone Free's Stand cry

Stone Free is the Stand of Jolyne Cujoh featured in Stone Ocean.

Stone Free gives Jolyne the ability to unravel her body into string. It is a long-range Stand.

Physical Appearance[]

Stone Free is a feminine humanoid Stand that is pretty slim. She is light bluish and almost looks like she is perpetually wearing a onesie. She has a few areas where string is visible from her arms, and she wears gray shoulder pauldrons.

On her head is some more string stuff and she wears green shades cause she's Gucci like that.

Design Variants[]

In Stone Ocean, she first appears to Jolyne as string coming out from her finger.

In Stone Free, her first physical appearance, she is shown with half her body missing as it is unraveled and coming from her User's body.

In Torrential Downpour Warning, she is used by Jolyne to form a net around her to catch the poison dart frogs raining from the sky, so as not to damage Jolyne.

In C-Moon, Part 2, Jolyne uses Stone Free to form a Mobius Strip in her chest to avoid the effects of inverted gravity by Pucci's evolved Stand, C-Moon.

Powers and Abilities[]

Strings[]

Stone Free is a unique close-range Stand that can not only be summoned to fight, but also provides Jolyne with integrated abilities. Like her father's Star Platinum, Jolyne's Stone Free focuses on speed, precision and power, making it powerful in combat. Moreover, its string power gives it incredible versatility that allows Jolyne a wide array of actions.

  • String Decomposition: Her Stand allows her to unravel her body into string and is thus a long-distance Stand. The Stand is also physically powerful, as she is able to throw powerful punches at her opponents.
  • Stone Free's string manipulation makes it exceptionally versatile in battle. With the string, Jolyne is able to:
    • Eavesdrop on distant conversations in the form of sound vibrations through her string by the same principles behind the tin can telephoneW but also converse through them.
    • Slice people with the sharpness of the strings.
    • Pickpocket small objects.
    • Weave a tight net instantly strong enough to stop bullets to protect herself.
    • Create a large net to capture enemies.
    • Tie people up for various uses, mainly pulling them in range or choking them.
    • Stitch her wounds.
    • Deploy a "string barrier" to detect movements over a large area.
    • Create complex patterns to the point where Stone Free can make a portrait.
    • Swing from place to place.
    • Counteract C-Moon's ability to turn things inside-out, by meshing affected areas of her body into a Möbius strip.

Notes[]

  • Its name localized is Stone Ocean, which is also the name of the Part it appears in.
    • This is similar to Gold Experience being Golden Wind which is what its parts name is.
  • This Stand follows along with a naming-scheme that the next JoJo's Stands all follow, that being named after a material. In this case, it's stone.
  • Apparently, she smells like soap.
    • She's the only Stand that we know smells like something.
  • The katakana at the beginning of the words 'Stone' and 'Free', ス and フ, are the same as the katakana at the beginning of the words in Star Platinum's name, with the 'fu' in Platinum having a handakuten diacritic that changes its pronunciation.
