“MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA”
The World is the Stand of DIO featured in Stardust Crusaders.
It is very similar to Jotaro Kujo's Star Platinum in that they are both close range powerful Stands with the ability to stop time. DIO is only able to stop time for several seconds, more than Star Platinum can, as DIO was trained in this ability for much longer. In the novel JORGE JOESTAR, Kars uses an enhanced version of this Stand known as The World Ultimate.
He originally awakened this Stand by being stabbed with the Bow and Arrow by Enya.
Physical Appearance[]
The World is a large humanoid Stand with bulging muscles. Its skin is gray, and it appears to wear gold armor. On his head is a gold mask that slopes up at the top, and he wears oxygen tanks on his back.
Design Variants[]
In the novel JORGE JOESTAR, Kars uses an enhanced version of this Stand with a longer head and black hands and arms.
In Time For Heaven! New Moon, New Priest! The World is turned into a Stand DISC by Enrico Pucci's Stand Whitesnake.
In Strength, The World briefly appears as a ghostly figure in the mirror next to DIO.
In Jail House Lock! The World is depicted in DIO's narration as being destroyed in the process of the Heaven plan.

Powers and Abilities[]
The World is a close-range Stand with a range of about 2 meters.
- Super Strength: The World possesses immense strength, being able to throw a Jeep carrying four men and a girl out of the path of an 18-wheeler with one hand, later pulling the same Jeep out of a canyon with only a car as a counter-weight, and destroy large artificial diamonds within seconds.
- Super Speed: The World boasts phenomenal speed. It was able to intercept a bullet fired from point-blank range, briefly contended with Silver Chariot (whilst it was using Anubis), and is stated to exceed the speed of light.
- Precision: The World is incredibly precise; it can surgically remove an object embedded in a person's skull without ill effect, catch both a bullet and a minuscule Stand like Lovers between his thumb and forefinger in midair, and create a near photo-realistic drawing of a small Egyptian fly from a dark, blurry photo.
- Barrage of Strikes: The World's primary method of attack. It throws an extremely fast but precise barrage of powerful punches to pulverize an opponent or destroy objects.
- Time Stop: The World's power is its ability to stop time, allowing only itself, DIO and anyone with the same power, to act within the duration of stopped time. DIO is able to use this ability consistently, as shown as he is able to stop time with little to no fatigue, although this might be due to his vampiric nature or greater experience with his Stand.

Notes[]
- The World was the first Stand design made by Araki.
- Apparently, The World has oxygen tanks on his back because Araki wanted him to be able to breath during stopped time somehow.
- The World begins the trend of having every main villain's Stand in JoJo have the ability to manipulate time in some way. In his case, he is able to stop time.
